River Jaldhaka: Feel the Real Magic of Mother Nature Here

River Jaldhaka is a peaceful place situated at a distance of 100 kilometres from Siliguri. And, this river can be considered as the Trans boundary of India and Bhutan. It originates from the Kupup Lake which is in the south-eastern Sikkim and flows through Bhutan, Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri, Cooch Behar and then swiftly enters into Bangladesh, to join River Dharla. Hence, the river estimates roughly 192 kms, and hence the flow of the water is quite fast. The river flows through the valley which is at the foothills of the Himalayas, giving a picturesque view to the hamlet here. Jhalong, which is the other name for Jaldhaka is a small township which is feats for the searching eye and stimulating to the mind. And, as mentioned above, if you are a true nature lover, then you will definitely be tyhrilled at the site of elephants.   • By Flight:

    Nearest airport is the Bagdogra airport from where you have to drive for 3 hours to reach Bindu, a settlement beside Jaldhaka.

  • By Road:

    You can take the state busses and travel along National Highway 31, to reach Duars, and then take a car to reach Jaldhaka. But, from if you wish to travel form siliguri, then it is roughly 115 kms from there.

  • By Railways:

    You can take a train and travel till Chalsa, which is near to Alipur Duar and then take a car to travel Jaldhaka through Chapramari.
