Chapramari Wildlife Sanctuary: For the Lovers of Nature and Eco-Tourism

Have you ever wondered how scenic would it look when a river would pass through a wild forest, separating it into two? Yes, this creation of nature can be seen when you visit Gorumara National Park. You would see the River Murti has separated the two rivers naming the North East side of the river as Chapramari Wildlife Sanctuary and the South West side of the same as the Gorumara National Park. It is regarded as one of the oldest forests of India, and has many uncommon wild animals, amongst which elephant population, is worth noticing. The elephants make the forest famous for its name. In the recent past this area has come up with some excellent and important tourist destination, which falls under the Western Dooars. If you go through the details of the forest, then you would see that it is comparatively, smaller than the other forest here, which is hardly about 10 square km, in total. But, due to the presence of deer, reptiles and other animals that can be seen here, this forest is one of the most visited places in the Dooars. To add more to its charm, the forest is surrounded by the River Murti on the west side and on the East Side River Jaldhaka, hence you know how magical the days will be when you plan to stay here for a weekend.
